American Equity Named One of Newsweek’s Most Trustworthy Companies in America for Third Consecutive Year
For the third year in a row, we at American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company® are proud to be recognized as one of Newsweek’s Most Trustworthy Companies in America. This recognition supports our commitment to providing retirement products and services that empower people to strive for a fulfilling retirement.
This 2025 honor is based on an independent study of 102,000 company evaluations from 25,000 participants — and it reflects the trust we’ve earned by staying true to our mission and values.
“Being named one of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies for three consecutive years is a testament to the values we live every day,” said Jeff Lorenzen, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Trust is the foundation of everything we do. We are proud to be a company that people can count on — especially when it comes to something as important as preparing for retirement.”
Putting People First
We believe trust is built through relationships — not just transactions. That’s why we take a people-first approach to service, offering responsive, knowledgeable support from our Des Moines, Iowa, headquarters.
“We’re incredibly honored to receive this recognition for customer service excellence,” said Dan Koch, Head of Customer Excellence. “At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to understanding our customers and creating meaningful experiences that reflect their needs, values, and aspirations. We believe great service is about connection and making every interaction count.”
This year's ranking includes 700 public and private companies representing 23 industries, ranging from aerospace and health care to retail and consumer goods. The distinction accounts for the perspectives of the companies’ consumers, employees, and investors, as well as online media sentiment.
Longstanding Commitment to Values
This recognition is a testament to the trust we’ve built since opening our doors in 1995. David Noble founded American Equity with a simple conviction: people deserve to be treated like people —not account numbers. He believed service should be personal, insurance products should be understandable, and integrity should guide everything. He called it the “mother principle”, meaning if he couldn’t explain a product clearly enough for his mother to understand, it wasn’t fit for anyone else. Those beliefs still guide us today.
